Rory J Lewis is an award winning British Macro Wildlife Photographer best known for his highly stylized invertebrate portraits and ethical approaches to getting incredibly detailed images in the wild.

Rory’s unique approach to in-situ wildlife combines macro with aspects of traditional portrait photography to capture an oft unseen personality to these reclusive creatures, resulting in colourful, intimate and emotive imagery otherwise invisible to the human eye.

In times where climate change and habitat loss put many invertebrate species at existential threat, Rory’s images are in many ways attempting to create a new perspective and empathy from the viewer, bringing some awareness to the vital role these tiny creatures play in our own lives.

Rory’s works have been featured in many popular publications such as L’Obs and RosPhoto, and have received multiple commendations from the Royal Entomological Society, CUPOTY and the Bug Life Bug Awards.  Rory has also represented Venus Optics Laowa lenses in their marketing on multiple occasions and is currently carrying out Canon sponsored workshops in partnership with Wex Photo video throughout the UK.
